“No Brain Is The Same” teaches compassion for neurodiversity through education

We teach kids in K-8 about neurodiversity, what it means, what it looks like and what it feels like to be neurodivergent.

We aim to transform how neurodivergent kids are perceived and supported by recognizing their many skills and talents, while creating a more inclusive community. We celebrate different minds!

Our mission

We talk to kids about how brains are wired differently in a way that they can understand and apply around them and out into the community.

Different brains working together

The purpose of talking to kids directly is to solve the double empathy problem. We teach neurodivergent kids about the neurotypical world AND neurotypical kids about neurodivergent brains.

Success in this world lies in different brains working together. So, our goal is to educate kids in how our brains work and how they can support each other.

We also want kids to have information on how their brains work so they can self-advocate!

Some of the areas we cover:

  • The principles of relationships
  • Accept rather than reject
  • Understand rather than judge
  • Participate rather than manipulate

Meet your speaker, megg thompson!

As more and more kids are embracing their neurodivergent brains, we are finding out that new information is needed to best support them to be their best selves.

We need to have the newest information and research around neurodiversity and that’s where Megg comes in. She will teach the kids how to self-advocate.

She will talk about temperaments and how those play a huge role in wellness. She will celebrate all brains, all blended diagnosis as they usually co-exist and help students navigate a neurotypical world.

Neurodivergent kids can learn how to make plans for:

  • Overwhelm
  • Crash-out
  • Exhaustion and meltdowns.

About Megg

As a former Kindergarten teacher of ten years, Megg came to learn that her place was with children others found challenging (and she found interesting, charismatic, exciting and determined).

Megg has interned with world renowned early childhood educator, author and advocate Bev Bos in Roseville, CA.

Through her life-changing experiences she has adopted a proactive and strength based approach to behavior.

Megg sees children as perfectly designed, equipped with the exact right tools to help them be their very best.

Our son John is a fifth grader and participated in the Neurodiversity Week at the Rye Junior High. John talked about how the week gave him a better understanding of some of his friends and classmates.

From the kids learning about neurodiversity to the admin and teachers learning too, our school so desperately needs you, the kids need you! Very excited to have you come to our school!
